Duties and Qualifications
As a member of the ETO Quality Management function, the Quaility Assurance Analyst is responsible for monitoring quality of IT deliverables within the SDLC through the new Architecture and Quality Assurance process. The main objective of the QA Analyst is to increase the overall quality of applications by proactive support and quality guidance around project assests, conducting the appropriate levels of technical assurance reviews within the SDLC to provide feedback for improvement. The QA Analyst will also work with project and production specialists to analyze defect data in order to identify root causes and implement action plans to prevent future defects resulting in 'best in class' quality work. The results of this position will be tracked through metrics based reporting.
Plans, executes and may manage quality assurance activities required for testing new software configurations and functionality before installation into the SunTrust production environment. Responsible for designing, validating testing. Provide leadership and consulting at various levels of complexity across the organization to ensure the successful delivery of defect free applications. Responsible for decisions which impact the costs, delivery schedule and quality of projects and programs across the enterprise. This position has significant impact on merger and acquisition success. Plan, execute and/or manage moderately complex quality assurance activities required for testing new software configurations and functionality before installation into the production environment. Plan the strategy for and manage enterprise-wide software release testing and implementation schedules. Manages defect tracking.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
5 years progressive experience in testing or 8 years progressive experience in the IT industry. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex quality assurance activities on new software configurations and functionality before installation, and to apply Quality Control and Assurance guidelines at the project level, to develop test strategies, test cases/scripts, test data, test schedules and test plans.
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing plans for improvements to current procedures and to ensure delivery of projects/programs.
Effective verbal and written communication proficiency for the purpose of providing information to management and/or staff.
Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
Preferred:
Solid SDLC understanding
Multiple SDLC process knowledge
Strong understanding of various roles and deliverables within the SDLC, including a comprehensive technical background
One, or more, areas of specialty within the SDLC; must be a SME in at least one area
Communication skills are at the SVP level, at a minimum
Must understand basic Project Management, Architecture, Development, Testing, Production Support
Must have hands on experience with quality metrics
Must know some formal process methods (Six Sigma, Lean, ITIL, etc)
Must be able to work with minimal supervision, but with large/complex teams
A team focused attitude, and a win/win personality is required
A math or engineering degree is preferred ; bachelors degree required
Superior understanding and proficiency in one or more of the following:
Applied knowledge of software development lifecycle
Project management methodology; working knowledge of all applications supported, and enterprise architecture
Understanding of corporate change management principles (mainframe, distributed, and web based applications) with emphasis on testing and migration of changes from testing to production
Understanding of enterprise architecture
SME knowledge is several SDLC areas, technology project areas, and process areas
Leadership experience
Significant C level exposure
Exceptional presentation skills
Strong technical background
Personal use of the following tools: Primavera, ReqPro, ClearCase, Harvest, Endeavor, Quality Center, Build Forge, HP Service Center, Tivoli
Financial services/banking work experience
